Pondok Indah Mall, often known as PIM Jakarta, is one of the city’s most popular shopping destinations. The complex has three connected sections, PIM 1, PIM 2, and PIM 3, allowing visitors to move easily between them.
With hundreds of stores, it’s a great place for weekly shopping, family outings, or simply exploring something new. Since the mall is quite large, Ashley Hotel has gathered some helpful notes to guide you during your visit.
How to Get There
Pondok Indah Mall sits in the Kebayoran Lama area of South Jakarta. If you’re coming from West Jakarta, just follow Jalan Panjang toward the south and continue straight until you reach the mall. From the city center via Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, the drive takes around 30 minutes in light traffic, but can reach up to an hour during busy periods.
Public transportation is a practical choice. The nearest MRT station, Cipete Raya, is still a bit far from the mall, so you’ll need another ride to continue. A better option is TransJakarta, since there is a bus stop right in front of PIM, making your trip easier and more affordable.
Since PIM consists of three connected buildings, it’s good to check ahead which area you want to explore first. Parking in the section closest to your plan helps save time and lets you enjoy the visit right away.
Opening Hours and Crowd Management
Pondok Indah Mall is open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM across all three buildings. For the best experience, visiting on weekdays especially Tuesday to Thursday between late morning and midday keeps things calmer and easier to explore. Evenings after 8:00 PM also feel more relaxed, though many stores are already getting ready to close.
If you’re traveling during the rainy season from November to March, indoor plans will be the safest choice. Luckily, all three sections of the mall are connected by indoor bridges, so even if a sudden shower hits, you can move between PIM 1, PIM 2, and PIM 3 without getting wet.

What’s Inside the Mall?
The three PIM buildings each offer something different and make it easy to find what you need. PIM 1 covers daily essentials, from lifestyle stores to the supermarket. PIM 2 focuses on high-end fashion. PIM 3 is the best place for dining, with plenty of options for every craving. Bring a reusable bag since plastic bags are no longer free. If you plan to try clothes or check out popular shops, come earlier on weekends to avoid long lines.
Dining Guide: Where to Eat and When to Go
Food choices at Pondok Indah Mall are broad and convenient, from quick meals to sit-down dining. PIM 3 stands out as the foodie area, filled with cafés, dessert spots, and popular restaurants. PIM 1 and PIM 2 also offer dining options, mainly placed around their shopping zones.
Lunchtime from 12:00 to 2:00 PM gets crowded. A later lunch helps you avoid long queues. Dinner peaks from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, especially on weekends. Booking ahead for popular places can save you time.
If the wait feels too long, Ashley Hotel is close enough to return for a comfortable break. You can explore plenty of tasty street food around the hotel while staying near your accommodation.
